ANNEX REFURBISHMENT
Our client here was compelled to buy this property for his move to Poole largely due to the opportunity to create a greatly improved version of a self contained space.
Formerly a swimming pool complex, the previous owner had made a partial move to create some self-contained living, but let’s just say there was room for improvement!
The annex had a complete re-fit including significant changes made to the internal layout with the removal of several key walls and exterior openings. Windows and doors blocked up and new ones created. Significant attention was given to providing a level and seamless transition across the entire space, particularly where flooring types changed to eliminate trip hazards. We fitted bi-folds to a resized opening off the living room which draw you out to the newly formed sun terrace.
With all new windows, doors, electrics and plumbing including underfloor heating and new boiler, nothing of the old annex remains. The beautiful new ensuite and kitchen together with bespoke handmade fitted storage transform the annex into delightful retirement home.

William Bowley have been extremely professional throughout the who process of our 16 week complete renovation of our annex. They started with some speculative work on behalf of our architects who needed some information under the existing floor and went onto tender for the work. Nick Turner was appointed our project manager and he has been a complete pleasure to work , always keeping an eye on controlling the clients cost but at the same time extremely detailed only accepting the best standards from his supply chain all of whom are clearly people he has worked with on many occasions. The project has come in 3% above the original quote but we added much more to the specification as we went on and Nick found savings as we moved forwarded resulting in only a 3% rise in the original quote. We got a lot more for almost the value of the tendered spec ( i.e. Bi-fold patio doors, upgraded radiators, windows and more).
Communication is key and Nick was available any day to talk and chat through ideas or where decisions were needed by us. I don’t think there are many building projects where the client honestly will say that we will miss the team as they are great people who embraced we were creating a wonderful annex for my 90 year old parents and have done everything within their power to do this.
